 Founder of Soul Power Studios

After nearly two decades of running, aerobics, and bootcamp classes, Debra found her way to the mat in 2019 when a friend convinced her to try a Bikram yoga class. The experience was exhilarating, but her true love for yoga didn’t blossom until she stepped into a hot flow class in San Francisco.

When she returned home to the DMV, Debra set out to find that same transformative energy. After exploring several studios, she discovered Power Nectar Yoga—where she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and began a new chapter of her wellness journey.

What began as a desire to deepen her personal practice soon evolved into a calling to share the healing, strength, and balance yoga had brought into her life.

Since then, Debra has taught yoga, fitness, and conducted workshops for a wide range of students of all fitness and wellness levels. 

She believes yoga and fitness is not one-size-fits-all. Her teaching philosophy focuses on meeting students where they are, helping them look beyond the physical pose to uncover deeper self-awareness, compassion, and discovery.

In every class, Debra blends guided meditation, the soothing resonance of sound bowls, and gentle hands-on assists to create a calming and supportive environment. Her goal is to help each student feel grounded, empowered, and connected—both on and off the mat.

When she’s not teaching, Debra enjoys spending time with her loving husband and is a proud mother of two young men who continue to inspire her everyday.
